 Introduction

It’s no secret that motherhood is one of the most demanding yet important jobs in the world. Not only do moms have to juggle the needs of their children and their families, friends and work. But they also have to find time for their own wellbeing. Which their wellbeing is the most important of them all.

That’s why it’s so important for moms to take some time for themselves every day. And even more important for them to MAKE time for themselves. Whether it’s a couple minutes to pray and meditate or a 30minutes to exercise, carving out some time for self-care can make a big difference in a mom’s life.

If you ever doubted needing a break, then you better start reading. Take notes and then take action. If you need help join the waitlist for the Wrap up 2022 Strong Challenge. Ready for action?! lets gooooo💨💨

So why do moms need some time to themselves? Below are 7 of the most important reasons:

1.To recharge their batteries

Moms are constantly serving others, and it can be draining. Taking some time each day to recharge their batteries is crucial for moms to be able to keep fulfilling the many roles they fill. And it is a great time to decide if she event wants to continue serving everything and everyone. It’s counterproductive to recharge only to be drained again. Crazy Right? That’s another topic for another day. I digress…

2. They work hard

Oftentimes moms are the last to go to bed and the first to wake up. She is often times than not the last to eat, drink and sleep. Last time I checked this was completely crazy and unsustainable. Anyone that works those long hours without food and water on a regular basis definitely needs a break or even two lol.

3. They never have a break

Working moms are often the nucleus. She’s connected to work, church, school, the kids, the pets, the extracurricular activities. Often times than not she operates as the personal secretary for everyone. This means even when she is sick chances are she can’t rest.

4. They need time to think

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard moms say, “GOSH I can’t even think”. What about you? It’s because you are likely shouldering the problems and concerns of everyone else. At some point mom needs a break just so that she can complete a simple task like, “think”. Sounds funny right? But it’s soooo necessary and oh so true.

If you’re a mom, I’d like to invite you to sign up for the Wrap up 2022 challenge. The waitlist for this goal setting and planning workshop can be found here.

5. They need time to be themselves

This is an interesting one. Because a working mom wears so many hats it’s easy for her to get lost in the many roles she plays. Because in order to play that role she may feel the need to put on or take off a layer of herself.  Working women are constantly battling with the work life balance deal. In one breath, she’s at home struggling to be present and involved without thinking about work. And on the other hand, she’s at work struggling to be present and involved without thinking about home. That in itself is completely exhausting!

6. They need time for their hobbies

The time of telling moms that they should wait until their babies grow older has got to END. Tomorrow is not promised to any Woman and no mom should have to put her life on hold unless she wants to do so. So again, I say, moms need breaks. Lots of them!

7. They need time to be with other adults

Adults only! And not in the freaky way (unless that’s her preference) But moms need that time to bond and make relationships outside of work, church and kids. Sometimes moms that are surrounded by kids all day long with little to no adult interaction can suffer pretty badly from depression. They need to gossip (ok maybe not lol) and talk about a lot of inappropriate stuff to distract them from the mundane day to day.  Reasearch in social psychology shows endless benefits to talking with other adults which in includes everything from personal and professional development to community building.

Choose one from the list or all.

But most importantly ask for a break. No scratch that, make taking a break a priority.

And now for the magical question of the day. How does a busy working mom or mom in business make time for herself?

It can seem impossible for moms to find time for themselves. With all of the demands of motherhood, it’s  pretty easy to forget to take care of your own needs. However, it’s important to make time for yourself, even if it’s just a few minutes each day.

Make this holiday season MAGICAL

In my upcoming workshop. I want to teach you to do that. You can join the waitlist for the Wrap up 2022 strong challenge here.

There are a few easy things you can do to make sure you’re taking care of yourself by spending that alone time.  First, try your best to schedule some “me time” into your day, even if it’s just 10-20 minutes. You can use this time to relax, read, exercise, or do whatever the heck you enjoy. Secondly, don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends, family, or your partner. It takes a village to raise a family and asking for help will free up some much-needed time for yourself. Lastly, cut yourself some slack and show self-compassion. You may not get regular or long periods of time alone. But make a conscious effort to put your first!

Putting yourself first is one of the many concepts we will cover in the Wrap up 2022 strong challenge. You can join the waitlist for the Wrap up 2022 strong challenge here.
